Who supplies our buildings?
Pinelog has been manufacturing and installing domestic and commercial leisure buildings for the past 30 years. They're based in Bakewell Derbyshire. Kinniburgh Pools are proud to be their sole distributor of domestic Pool and Leisure buildings in Scotland.
Do Kinniburgh Pools build bespoke pools?
Yes we build bespoke pools and buildings, using our own Architects and Designers. We can also work with your architect if you have one. As well as custom building to meet clients' needs, we use the proven Polypool, modular system which offers great flexibility as well as energy efficient running costs.
Who are Kinniburgh Spas?
A sister company of Kinniburgh Pools who supply some of the best spas and hot tubs from Marquis Spas, a North American company who have been producing some of the easiest to maintain and most environmentally friendly Spas around.

Our clients often want ancillary services to make the most of their pools and spas, so we supply everything from lighting, heating, sound and vision plus full home automation. With 30 years experience in this market, these add-ons are essential components for many, to make the most of their leisure time.
How long do Pinelog indoor pool buildings last?
Indefinitely - with the pressure treatment we use, Pinelog buildings should last a lifetime... as thousands of log cabins and timber construction buildings in Scandinavia have. For complete peace of mind we also provide a ten-year guarantee against materials and structural defects.
What does the price for an indoor pool package include?
The price is fully inclusive of foundations, pool building, swimming pool and equipment, dehumidification, lighting, heating and flooring. Kinniburgh Pools take complete responsibility for the installation, from the initial site survey through to the final commissioning on completion.
What are the average running costs and is the pool easy to maintain?
As a guide, a 30ft x 12ft (9m x 3.6m) indoor swimming pool, run on electric Economy 7 would cost in the region of £1,200 per annum, less than £25 per week. This is assuming that the pool is to be used every day of the year. Existing customers tell us that when they have got used to maintaining their indoor pool, on average they spend about half an hour each week cleaning the pool, checking the chemical levels and the filtration system.
Does an indoor swimming pool always need Planning Permission?
In Scotland it is usually necessary to get planning permission and a building warrant for a Pool and Building - we'll take care of the application on your behalf and keep you informed of the process and timescale but realistically you are looking at 8-16 weeks.
Can a Kinniburgh Pool swimming pool building have the same external appearance as the house and can it be attached?
Kinniburgh Pools design and build fully insulated traditional pool buildings with your choice of external finish in stone, brick, cladding, or render etc. The pool building can be either freestanding or linked to an existing dwelling. Examples of these are shown on this website.
Can the buildings be any size?
You will see that the indoor pool collection includes a wide range of attractive buildings with different finishes and sizes. We can offer great flexibility and can build a variety of styles and sizes. Additional doors, roof glazing, styles of windows, extensions for saunas, spas and wiring for sound etc. are all catered for and designed into the building in our architects' department. This is a service that our customers expect and one we are pleased to be able to provide.
What if we have our own architect?
We're used to working with architects commissioned to design and develop a bigger scheme for customers; here we fit in, working out from the outset who does what so there are no problems later. Our adaptability means you get what you want, and our contribution fits in with your vision of how you want to live.
Can we landscape and light your Garden?
Yes we can work closely with a couple of good landscape companies (or your own if you're working with one) and our own Kinniburgh Technologies can link the lighting in to compliment your project.
Do Kinniburgh Pools carry out installations in my area?
We install indoor and outdoor swimming pools throughout Scotland.
What guarantees do you provide?
We guarantee our work and materials. Where we provide equipment - like spas, hot tubs or leisure buildings from Pinelog - they and we are responsible for workmanship and installation to your satisfaction. Pinelog leisure buildings and our Polypools are covered for 10 years, providing they are cared for according to our recommended maintenance procedure.
How long does it take to build a pool?
It normally takes us 12-16 weeks to, install and commission a pool, but you have to plan for your local authority's planning and building warrant approvals (see the detailed work programme below.)
